Norway Day One - Oslo

First of all, Norwegian Airlines coach seats are TINY!! I will never complain about a Southwest seat again.

I have planned and completed a 16 day trip to Norway and Northern Ireland in June of 2018. Tracy keeps exclaiming at how many pictures I have (only about 865), and has no intention of seeing them all, but I know many of my friends and family want to see them and read my stories. So... here you go.

Tracy didn't come with me on this trip, she didn't like my first 24 hour plan. Arrive at the Oslo Airport, pick up rental car, drive to Downtown Oslo, go to the Airbnb, sleep a few hours to adjust to Norway time, then drive 8 hours across Norway to Ă…lesund, and enjoy my trip. I have to give her credit, I learned Norsk to feel comfortable with this trip. Plus, I had NO FEAR at all about this trip. Norway and Ireland are two of the safest countries in the world. I know it would be awesome and it was!

First Stop - Oslo

I accidentally clicked no toll roads on my GPS and let me tell you, I am thrilled! The long way from the airport is beautiful. Much better than the toll road I drove to get to my Airbnb.

I went to The Vigeland Park within Frogner Park as soon as I got off the plane. I have wanted to see this since my friend Lillian told me about it. Yes that is cloudy and rainy, and YES I am THRILLED that most of my trip features weather. I was hiding from Tucson weather while I was away. I avoided a tropical storm and 116 degrees. I couldn't be happier with the windy drizzle that followed me around.

This is my favorite statue. When I walked up to it I thought, "This is how art is supposed to make you feel."

Yes, that is a man kicking and throwing babies from himself.

I drove on the Toll road back to my Airbnb. I am sad that I didn't have more time to stay at this place. about 40 people live in this 200 year old mansion. They were all very nice and helpful, wish I could have had some meals there. Sigh!

A word about my rental car. I had a hybrid/diesel Toyota Yaris. It was awesome and I wish I could buy it here in Arizona.

More to come in future postings.

Hugs and Love!
